Artisan Inn & Vacation Homes Deposit & Cancellation Policy 2020 Summer Season.

Because a great level of planning, precaution and investment must be taken around each booking this summer to ensure guest and staff safety, we have had to update our deposit and cancellation policies.  Guests must confirm they understand and agree to the cancellation policy before we officially confirm a reservation.  

Upon Booking: A deposit is required and cancellations are free within 24 hours of the booking being made:

Bookings under 5 nights: Deposit of the 1st night stay (including tax)
Bookings 5 nights or longer
: Deposit of 25% of total booking (including tax)
Packages:
The equivalent of the 1st-night stay rate of the accommodation booked for the package. Ex If you booked a $810 2 night stay and dine package for a house that is $285 per night, your deposit is $285 plus tax (please go to the end of documents for information regarding cancelling aspects of a package after you have arrived)

Cancellations made 30 days or more before first reserved date:

50% of the deposit will be refunded to your CC and the other 50% will be issued as a gift certificate which expires at the end of the 2022 season.

Cancellations made between 15 and 30 days prior to the first reserved date

100% of the deposit will be refunded as a  gift certificate which expires at the end of the 2022 season.

Cancellations between 9 and 14 days prior to the first reserved date: 

The booking deposit is non-refundable for vacation homes.* For rooms the 15 to 30 day prior policy of a 100% gift certificate still applies.  

8 Days Prior to First Booked Date: The remainder of the booking will be charged to the credit card provided for the deposit. Cancellations made within 8 days are non-refundable.* 

Specific to packages: Should a package be cancelled after the full amount has been charged between 8 days and 24 hours prior to the booking, only the accommodations portion is non-refundable. Should a dinner be cancelled within 24-2 hours of the booking and cannot be rebooked $25 will be retained per guest reserved. Should dinner be cancelled within 2 hours of the meal start time, the regular price of the meal will be charged to each cancelled guest.

We recognize that plans may change, however, we are operating limited inventory compared to normal years in order to operate in the safest manner possible for guests, staff and our community. When you book, you are asking us to refuse income from other rental requests for the property and, in return, we expect that the reservation will be honoured and paid for.

*Non-Refundable Deposits: If we are able to rebook dates cancelled within 14 days of the booking start date, we may decide to issue a full or partial refund to your credit card or a gift certificate. This will be determined on a case by case basis depending on how many nights of the reservation we are able to refill, at what rate and the reason for cancelling. We are reasonable and our intention is not to make money for the same dates twice, but to retain the difference of what we are not able to recoup when trying to rebook unexpected cancellations. If a stay at home order is re-instated, already charged amounts will be issued as gift certificates good until the end of 2023 with the possibility of extension.  

How we can help if you need to cancel

We will be keeping a waitlist of reservation requests and will do our best to advertise any last-minute vacancies through our social media channels.

If you would like to transfer your entire reservation to another party, you may do so, however, the party size must be within the allowed number and the new guests will need to provide a credit card for our files and fill out a rental waiver. Bookings longer than 7 nights may be divided into different groups (ex, two three-night bookings) however, certain requirements will need to be met and it is up to us if we wish to accept the proposed split booking. This will be determined on a case by case basis.

Cancelling aspects of a package: 

Should aspects of a package be cancelled more than 24 hours prior to a reserved dinner, the rate of the booking will be recalculated at a normal price. Ex if a guest decides they wish to cancel their second dinner once they have already begun the reservation, it will be recalculated to include the regular accommodation rate, the listed cleaning fee for that property, any meal reservations kept and $12-15 for the welcome package of locally made products depending on the number of guests booked.
